Ten odd and unimportant questions with odd and unimportant answers

Last entry I mentioned that a nearby ice cream shop keeps a sign in its window advertising the two featured flavors of the month, and that the choice was once tiramisu or taro. This prompted some odd nonsensical questions. Here are the uninformative answers:

Tiramisu or Taro?
Tiramisu. Ive never had taro flavored ice cream, but no matter, the answer is still tiramisu.

Dark chocolate or White?
Dark chocolate definitely, not that I would turn down anything remotely chocolate flavored, its just that I prefer the slight bitterness of dark chocolate.

Over or Under?
Depends on what you mean. In general, lets say underno overno under. Yup, under, or maybe over? Whatever the answer, kudos to anyone who recognized this as an extremely, if not outright impossibly, vague Urbania reference.

Beach or Mountain?
Despite having done neither in years, I think I would prefer to be hiking along Yosemite in early spring to walking along the beach with waves crashing at my feet in mid summer, so the answer is mountain I guess.

Ceviche or Sashimi?
Ceviche. When done right, it tastes wonderful. Thing is, I dont trust anyone to do it right (not just taste wise, but more importantly in terms of food safety), so I rarely if ever eat it. Sashimi on the other hand, being just a hunk of dead fish normally doesnt appear overly appetizing to me.

Cold or Hot?
Depends on the context. For example, I prefer my soda cold, but Im very hot in bed. Um, physically hot I mean. Um, I generate a lot of body heat I mean. Um, I choose cold?

Monster house or Trading spaces?
I havent bothered to watch Trading Spaces in a long time. The only appeal it holds for me is the odd chance of a quick flash of flesh, as one of the carpenters Ty tends to do things like work shirtless, or in flat tummy revealing shirts. For a skinny boy, hes sexy. From what I can tell, hes rarely on the program, probably explaining my lack of interest in the show.

Im far more likely to be watching Monster House with its far more attractive host Steve Watson. If he showed as much skin as Ty boy, Id be in high heaven. He doesnt though, nor does the occasional hunky workman contestant, but even so, its still the more interesting program of the two.

Asterix or Tintin?
A former work colleague of mine once asked me this ten years ago or so, and on hearing my answer accused me of betraying my proletariat background for preferring that bourgeois scum Tintin. Ken had a very unusual sense of humor, although maybe not so unusual. A couple of years ago I ran across a book where Tintin learns the error of his decadent ways and joins the communist party.

Anyway, while Ive never been able to get into Asterix, the boy on a grand adventure setting of Tintin captivated me at an early age and made me a long time fan, even with stereotypical representations of natives common to the time. The gorgeous Herg art didnt hurt either.

L-word or Queer as Folk?
Id like to say L-word; because despite its problems with believability, it started off at a level of storytelling and plot that it took QAF a few years to achieve. It also has actual folks of color in the cast, both as leads and as recurring minor characters. Emulating real life in casting never hurts (even if everyone still was a bit too skinny/pretty). But theres the problem with Jenny, the woman who leaves her boyfriend/husband after having an affair with a woman. I loathe Jenny. That self-victimizing, whiny, responsibility avoiding snip of a character annoyed me to no end, which made it a somewhat uneven program for me as she was a major character. Theres also the matter of hot soft-porn Man on Man sex scenes in QAF, so I guess my answer is Queer as Folk.

Pastel de tres leches or Ube cake?
Ive previously mentioned on several occasions my dislike of the texture of pastel de tres leches and that I dont find the taste overly thrilling, so the answer is Ube. Besides, whats not to like with a purple cake made from purple yams?
