The day was sweltering hot, made worse by high humidity and a storm that rolled in, yet never actually rained...Still, the ruins were amazing, and according to info boards they have set up for the tourists, these are sucky ruins. I've really got to get around to seeing Chich�n Itz�.
Stupid American Tourist Story #1: While walking around, I passed a white woman in her 30's screaming at a young man who appeared to be a park employee. From her words, something about "I only wanted a good picture of me!!!!" I gather that she was mighty displeased that he had asked her to step away from the edge of the cliff and to come back to the roped in path.
